Do not be discontented

Philippians 2:14
Do all things without complaining and disputing,
Complaining is popular.
So many things dissatisfy us; so many persons disappoint us.
When we are dissatisfied or disappointed the tendency is to complain.
Some persons complain some times, but there are some persons who complain all of the time. For the latter complaining becomes a chronic habit.
Some persons complain to get things ‘off of their chest’; some complain to establish that they were wronged; some complain to assert that they were right; some complain to bring the person or institution against whom they complain into disrepute.
Complaining usually sows the seeds of discord and disunity. That disunity and discord undermines the effort.
Think of these things:
- Are you humble like Christ?
- Do ego and pride influence how you work in the church?
- Do you always see your fellow workers in the church as co-workers or are they sometimes competitors?
Prayer focus:
Let us pray today that we would learn Christ’s humility and that we’d grow to esteem others ahead of ourselves.
In His Grace
